What
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is the methodological foundation beneath a large share of the TR toolset. Developed by Bandler and Grinder from modelling successful therapists, it studies how people code experience in sensory representations (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and how that coding can be changed. Anchoring, submodalities, swish, reframing, strategy elicitation and the Precision Model all originate here.

Explains where representational systems, anchoring, reframing, and strategies come from.
How it's used
In the certification NLP is taught as orientation knowledge, not as a separate method: the coach should know where the tools come from, what 'representational systems' means, and how the Meta Model (precision questions) and Milton Model (artfully vague language) differ. This background lets a coach adapt tools intelligently instead of executing them as scripts, and lets them talk credibly with professionals from other schools.
