What
Preframing sets an empowering frame before an experience happens, so the experience is interpreted through that frame from the start. Whoever frames first, frames strongest: meaning assigned in advance is far more robust than meaning repaired afterwards.
What for
Equip the person with the right meaning in advance.
How it's used
The coach preframes sessions ('some of what we do today may feel strange — that's exactly when it works'), exercises ('most people feel resistance right before the breakthrough'), and the client's upcoming real-world situations ('when your boss pushes back, that's your cue, not your obstacle'). Done well, difficulties arrive pre-labelled as part of the process, and the client's brain files them as confirmation instead of failure.
