What
Core Intentions are the deepest positive intentions at the bottom of a chain of behaviours — what the person is ultimately trying to feel or protect through everything they do. Beneath 'earning money' lies security, beneath security perhaps peace; the core intention is where the chain ends.
What for
Honour motivation while redirecting expression.
How it's used
The coach descends the chain with one repeated question: 'and if you had that, fully — what would it give you?' Three to five layers down, every client arrives at something simple and profound: peace, love, freedom, being enough. That discovery reframes the whole struggle — the client sees they have been pursuing the core intention through expensive detours, and the coach can connect them to it directly. Behaviour reorganises around the shortcut.
